Proposed practices for executing an Interview

When using TestDome's Interview platform, we recommend following some best practices to get the most out of the product:

Use Interviews for Candidates who Passed Screening Tests

Before scheduling a TestDome Interview, it’s recommended to first use TestDome’s Screening Tests to filter candidates by their skills. Screening allow you to evaluate many applicants efficiently and ensure that only the most qualified individuals move on to the more in-depth, real-time interview stage. By starting with a strong pool of candidates, you’ll spend your interview time more effectively.

Whiteboard Questions

Whiteboard-style questions can be valuable for assessing a candidate's understanding of abstract concepts such as software architecture or system design. These open-ended problems require candidates to articulate their thought processes clearly and explain their approach to solving a problem. By focusing on logical reasoning, creativity, and communication skills, these questions provide insights into how a candidate thinks and collaborates when faced with complex problems and challenges.

Blank Code Questions

Blank code questions allow the candidate to write code in the Interview’s coding environment. These questions are excellent for testing a candidate’s ability to solve coding problems in real time. Interviewers can observe how the candidate approaches the task, how they debug issues, and how comfortable they are with coding fundamentals. This format is ideal for evaluating hands-on technical skills.

Library Questions

TestDome Interviews also provide the option to select coding questions from our vast library. These questions cover a variety of skills and difficulty levels, making it easy to customize the interview to your needs. Library questions allow you to analyze candidates against a standard set of problems, ensuring consistency across interviews while saving time needed to prepare questions.

Out of all question types, only the following can be used on interviews:

  • Live Coding (CODE)
  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • Multiple Correct Answers (MCA)
  • Multiple MCQ Question (MMCQ)
